Dieng Plateau is located Dieng , Wonosobo, Central Java Indonesia. This lake is one of the Tourist destinations mainstay of Wonosobo. The name Telaga Warna itself is given because of the unique natural phenomenon that occurs in this place , the color of the Lake water is frequently changing. Sometimes lake looks colored green and yellow or colorful like a rainbow. This phenomenon occurs because of the high contents of Sulfur in the lake water . As the sun beam touches the Lake water, the water color of the Lake Telaga Warna Dieng appears more colorful.

Telaga Warna is located at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. Lake is surrounded by high hills which adds to the charm of the natural beauty around the lake colors. Harmonization of nature with cool and clean air makes the atmosphere Telaga Warna Dieng quite alluring. The tourists can feel the atmosphere of mystical silence enhanced by the white fog and shady trees. The existence of Telaga Warna Dieng is also very useful for the local population. They use water from the lake colors as a source of irrigation to irrigate potato plants became a major commodity in this region.

The Dieng Plateau is an upland volcanic plain in Central Java, famous for its scenery and ancient Hindu Temples. Dieng means Abode of the Gods. The Javanese Hindus built hundreds of temples in this place, but only eight are left. The temples were built from 8th century to 13th century by Sanjaya Dynasty. The local people named the temples based on the characters in the ancient Javanese Hindu legend which has similarity to famous Hindu story Mahabharata and Ramayana. Main Temples here are Arjuna Temple Complex ,Temple of Bima (Bheem), Srikandi Temple ( Shikhandi) , Temple Gatukaca ( Ghatotkach) .There are other temples too named Candi ((Temple) Semar , Puntadewa, and Dwarawati also related to Mahabharata. . Area has distinctive strong sulfuric smell from active volcano and smoke from numerous Volcanic Craters.View of the lush green Mountains is spellbound with the Tobacco , Tea and Potato terraces. Most amazing fact is that world's largest Islamic Country Indonesia is Restoring , Preserving and Maintaining it's Cultural Heritage nicely.
